The initial neurological examination lasts approximately up to 45 minutes, during which the doctor can thoroughly attend to the patient.
It consists of taking a medical history, followed by a physical examination, and the conclusion of the initial examination. The examination is painless, and there is no reason to be concerned. The doctor performs the physical examination with the patient in their underwear. At the conclusion of the initial examination, the doctor will inform the patient of the results with a detailed explanation. This may include a diagnosis and treatment plan if the doctor is certain of the illness's diagnosis after the first examination.
More often, however, the doctor will consider several possible diagnoses and must determine which one the patient has. Therefore, the doctor will recommend additional, supplementary examinations to help determine the correct diagnosis. These may include blood tests, CT, MRI, X-ray, etc. Even with an uncertain diagnosis, treatment can often begin immediately – for example, by alleviating pain, dizziness, etc. This is known as non-specific, symptomatic treatment, which can provide immediate relief to the patient.

You can book physiotherapy and rehabilitation without a doctor's referral. During the first session, the physiotherapist will conduct an initial examination. However, in acute or more serious health conditions, or after injuries, the physiotherapist may recommend a thorough medical examination where a doctor will determine the appropriate treatment.

Yes, we have a contractual relationship with Dôvera insurance company for the neurological clinic since May 2023.

There is no pediatric neurologist at SZC Hippokrates; we examine patients aged 15 and older. A pediatric neurologist should be sought at specialized facilities dedicated to children and adolescents. Examinations for patients aged 15 to 18 can only be performed by a neurologist upon request and in the presence of a parent or legal guardian.

Patients can book an EMG or ultrasound examination with a referral from a neurologist or another doctor. If a patient does not have such a referral, our neurologist can perform a brief examination at our center, followed by an EMG examination based on our neurologist's findings.

Art therapy utilizes elements of psychotherapy through various forms of art as a means of communication. Sensory stimuli serve as a tool for self-expression. The goal of art therapists is to initiate a self-healing process in individuals and enable them to discover ways to express emotions, psychological processes, and relationships that cannot always be articulated verbally.

It also allows individuals to recognize their own potential, increase self-awareness, self-knowledge, and foster personal growth. Art therapy at SZC Hippokrates is conducted individually by certified art therapist and Art Therapy Life coach Mgr. Sasha Točík Berkyová, MBA.

No, we do not perform PCR or antigen testing at SZC Hippokrates.

We do not perform the aforementioned examinations at SZC Hippokrates, as these are typically conducted in large polyclinics or hospitals. Our neurologists may recommend these examinations based on their assessment, and our reception can assist in finding an appointment at the relevant facility.

Explanation of examination abbreviations:

  • MR – MAGNETIC RESONANCE
  • CT – COMPUTED TOMOGRAPHY
  • X-RAY – RÖNTGEN

We are an outpatient healthcare provider, and therefore, there is no inpatient department at our center. Inpatient departments primarily operate in hospital facilities. Treatment at the Hippokrates medical center is provided on an outpatient basis.

Yes, they can, but it is necessary for these patients to provide written consent from their treating oncologist for this therapy. The written consent form can be provided by our reception.

Before the vitamin C infusion itself, it is necessary to undergo a blood draw for parameters: creatinine, iron, and ferritin. You can have a blood draw at our center every weekday morning or bring laboratory results from your general practitioner's blood test, not older than 14 days, for creatinine, iron, and ferritin levels.

The blood draw is performed preventatively to rule out any potential contraindications for administering such an infusion. With the blood test results, it is necessary to book a consultation with a doctor at the reception, which lasts up to 30 minutes. During the consultation, the doctor will assess the client's health status and recommend or not recommend undergoing the vitamin C infusion course. After the medical consultation, it is possible to book appointments for infusions, which are usually administered every other day, according to the doctor's recommendation.
