About Our Clinic

Is Hippokrates Clinic located only in Bratislava?

Yes. Our family-owned private medical centre is located exclusively in Bratislava, at Apollo Business Center II on Prievozská Street. We do not operate any other branches.

Do you cooperate with health insurance companies?

Yes. However, the number of patients we can treat under public health insurance is limited by our contractual capacities.

Does Hippokrates have inpatient hospital facilities?

No. We are an outpatient healthcare provider, therefore we do not operate inpatient wards. All treatment is provided on an outpatient basis through comprehensive daily care, which can often serve as an alternative to hospitalization.

Do you provide pediatric neurology services?

No. We treat adult patients aged 18 years and older. Children should be examined by a pediatric neurologist at a specialized pediatric healthcare facility.

Do you perform CT, MRI or X-ray examinations?

No. These imaging examinations are usually performed in hospitals or larger diagnostic centres. If necessary, our neurologists will recommend the appropriate examination after your consultation, and our reception team can assist you with arranging an appointment.

  • MRI – Magnetic Resonance Imaging
  • CT – Computed Tomography
  • X-ray – Radiography

Examinations & Appointments

What does the initial neurological consultation include?

The initial neurological consultation lasts approximately 60–90 minutes, allowing the neurologist sufficient time to thoroughly assess your condition. It includes a detailed medical history, neurological examination, and an explanation of the findings and recommended treatment plan. The examination is painless and there is no need to worry.

If the diagnosis is clear during the first visit, treatment can begin immediately. In many cases, additional tests such as blood work, CT, MRI or X-ray imaging may be recommended to confirm the diagnosis, while symptomatic treatment can often start without delay.

Can I book an appointment without a referral?

Yes. You can schedule a neurological consultation without a referral from your general practitioner. If required, you may provide the referral at a later date.

Can I book only an EMG or carotid ultrasound examination?

Yes. You may book an EMG or carotid ultrasound (USG) examination if you have a referral from a neurologist or another physician. If you do not have one, our neurologist can perform a brief consultation and indicate the examination based on your clinical findings.

Infusion Therapy

What is the process if I would like to receive high-dose Vitamin C infusion therapy?

Before starting Vitamin C infusion therapy, it is necessary to undergo a blood test including creatinine, iron and ferritin levels. Blood samples can be taken at our clinic on weekday mornings, or you may bring laboratory results from your general practitioner that are no older than 14 days.

The blood tests are performed to rule out possible contraindications and to ensure the treatment is safe for you. Once the results are available, you will have a consultation with one of our physicians (approximately 30 minutes), who will evaluate your health status and determine whether Vitamin C infusion therapy is appropriate.

If the treatment is recommended, your infusion appointments will be scheduled. Infusions are usually administered every other day, depending on your physician's recommendation and individual treatment plan.

Can cancer patients receive Vitamin C infusion therapy?

Yes. However, patients undergoing cancer treatment must provide written approval from their treating oncologist before starting Vitamin C infusion therapy.

The required consent form can be obtained from our reception team.
