What is EMG and why not to be afraid of it

Measuring nerves and muscles

EMG measures the electrical activity of muscles and the speed of nerve signal conduction. It reveals whether your symptoms are caused by a damaged nerve, a muscle, or a problem in the connection between them.

Painless and safe

During the examination you will feel gentle impulses similar to a light flick. No anaesthesia is needed, and you can return to your normal activities immediately afterwards.

Results on the spot

The examination takes 20–30 minutes, and the neurologist will explain your results and what they mean right away.
