How infusion therapy proceeds
Vitamin C is a powerful antioxidant, protecting cells from the effects of free radicals. It is important for the proper functioning of the immune system, as well as for the formation of connective tissue and collagen regeneration, and for removing harmful substances from the body. It also plays a role in controlling cholesterol levels and contributes to reducing histamine levels. Its effects in our body are still a subject of ongoing research. When there is an increased need for Vitamin C, supplementation through a regular diet is insufficient, not only due to reduced appetite during acute infectious diseases but also because of limited absorption. Vitamin C is absorbed in the small intestine with the help of special transport molecules that carry it into the bloodstream, but the number of these molecules is limited, meaning only a portion of Vitamin C – whether from food or administered in tablet form – is transferred into the blood. Furthermore, the fact that Vitamin C is water-soluble and our body cannot store it contributes to its deficiency, especially during acute infectious diseases.
Before receiving the infusion therapy, the patient undergoes blood collection for parameters: iron, creatinine, and ferritin. Additionally, by informed written consent, they confirm that they do not have kidney disease or kidney stones and have never been treated for these conditions.
The administration of the infusion is comfortable and does not take longer than 30 minutes. On the day of the infusion, the client should adhere to dietary restrictions, drink at least 2 liters of pure water, and avoid foods containing oxalates: spinach, beetroot, chocolate, or nuts.
