The Story of Hippokrates Center
The story of the private medical center Hippokrates began in 1995 when its founder and medical director, MUDr. Karol Točík, PhD., left his position as a clinical neurologist at Kramáre in Bratislava and established the very first private conventional medicine center in Slovakia. Initially, the clinic focused exclusively on neurological patients, but within its first two years of operation, it transformed into a polyclinic and expanded its services.
The small private medical center Hippokrates was founded as a family business, driven by the desire to embody the high ideals of medicine, fully expressed in the Hippocratic Oath. Currently, this family medical center is located in Apollo Business Center II on Prievozská Street in Bratislava.
Since 2015, the son Michal Točík and his wife have held the managerial position of director, taking responsibility for the clinic’s management and future. Despite relocation and the continuous changes in Slovak healthcare, the family members, along with other employees, foster a spirit of cooperation and a family atmosphere.
Hippokrates Private Medical Center boasts qualified, certified specialists in neurology, physiotherapy, and rehabilitation, a general practitioner for adults, an internist, and an art therapist. With its “daily care” options (comprehensive treatment capable of replacing hospitalization), it also offers regenerative and relaxation procedures. We provide exceptionally developed care for patients suffering from migraines, back pain, Parkinson’s disease, multiple sclerosis, or post-COVID syndrome, particularly concerning their rehabilitation. At the Hippokrates Private Medical Center, we also offer high-dose vitamin C infusion therapy and therapeutic massages. These are supplementary health services that complement the nature of comprehensive daily modern care and treatment. To date, the center has served tens of thousands of satisfied clients who particularly appreciate the doctors’ and medical staff’s dedication to their treatment, available appointments with doctors or for diagnostic examinations, daily treatment management, and the provision of these services under one roof.
